Favre calls it quits
After 18 record breaking seasons in the NFL, Brett Favre retired for the 2nd time and most likely the last time. Favre, who has basuically every important career record for a qb, spent his last season of his career as a Jet, but will always be remembered as a Green Bay Packer and winning Superbowl 31. By the end of his career in Green Bay, Favre and the Packers were on shakey ground after last years offseason in which Favre went back and forth in retiring with the Packers and finally the Packers decided to go with the young Aaron Rodgers. Farve wanted to come back and asked to be released so he could sign with the team of his choice. The Packers refused to do so and eventually traded Favre to the Jets. Time will only tell if the two sides can mend their differences.

It's like deja-vu all over again!!!
ReplyDeleteFavre is most likely done with his career in football, but I also thought that the first time I saw him retire, with tears in his eyes. I know the guy loves football more than any of us could know, but the fact that Favre came out of retirement, had a horrible second half season that led to the Jets missing the playoffs, can't help but make me cringe when I think about him.
